Subtitles.
I can no longer watch television
Without the familiarity of subtitles;
I follow the words on the screen,
I laugh when the audiences do too.
And my dreams now are muddied; unclear.
My thoughts are soured; winged, as Harpies,
Helplessly fighting over precious flesh and offal.
