Studies is a series of photographs created during two sessions in 2013.

The images, born from an attempt to immortalise the everyday within the context of the unashamed and the uncensored, exploring seemingly banal and otherwise unseen scenes within the life of a young woman, were originally planned to be preparatory images or studies able to be referenced retrospectively.

What resulted, were a collection of over eighty images that not only examined and followed the centuries-old dynamic between artist and muse at its surface, but also gave rise to the emergence of a pseudo-performative narrative; a character or alter-ego created at the collaborative meeting point of artist-creator and muse-actor. Given life by way of both orchestration and improvisation, the images present an expression across states of being concerning, apathy, solitude and desire, as delicately and intimately as possible.
