Rachel is a beautiful beast.
Inspired by & composed to A victual for our dead selves by False.
Rachel is a beautiful beast,
She growls a doleful, deep and guttural growl;
By quickened snare snaps and taps—
Oh, but there is warmth;
I listen and hear death, as a voice.
This moment is on loop—
A perfect scratch in the black wax of the long day,
Always returning to me willfully
When I am fatigued and I am lost;
Yes, Rachel is a beautiful beast.
I know this in the looming day,
I know this by the glass megalith,
I know this above restless currents;
The tide turns; lovers embrace in serene, thick air—
The day subsides, as a bluish shadow.
