then came forth the usurpers,
creeping across celestial tapestries
weaving malice, sulking with cosmic 
weaponry,

calling forth thunder, lighting,
other radiant technologies, artistry,
deftly swaying by, this way and
that,

rushing ‘round with brilliance;
one hundred gods or more,
defeating aetherial enemies like mere
gnats,

bending matter and rigid dimensions;
scores of allies falling, perished—
what terrible beauty comes from this
chaos,

then smiles the sun, comes the eve,
darks the strange deep light.
