Bruegel book.
I am twenty nine
and thirty one pence short
for my bruegel book;
absurdities and ritual
pleasantries in peasantry,
real and dignified—
ironically I am too poor,
but was up till five
reading about his life
and sudden death;
the long burned works,
travels and poverty;
nearly cried at the cripples,
smiled at the poetry
of the distant everyday.
