I believe that being an artist is a choice and a creative privilege

I believe that the art world is systematically elitist, fickle, flawed & exploitative
I believe that art without risk is pointless
I believe that art without struggle is soulless
I believe that art without sacrifice is worthless 
I believe that struggle is intrinsic in the making of great art
I believe that working-class art is the purest form of art
I believe that art created to be palatable or popular has no real value
I believe that art created for the sake of mass appeal has no real value
I believe that social media is negatively impacting the way in which art is experienced
I believe that the 10,000 hour rule is a nonsensical and unrealistic gauge on success 
I believe that we need fewer middle-class and socially elite artists, directors & writers
I believe that we need fewer middle-class and socially elite curators, publishers & gallerists
I believe that we need fewer middle-class and socially elite editors, magazines & organisations
I believe in independence from third parties wherever possible
I believe in giving back to the generation below my own wherever possible
I believe in seeking advice or counsel from the generation above my own wherever neccesary
I believe in challenging the status-quo & exploitation from companies, institutes & individuals
I believe in challenging exploitative individuals or actions regardless of title, association or rank
I believe in challenging classism, nepotism & elitism, as ruling institutions within artistic success
I believe in unbridled experimentation, reinvention, fluidity and improvisation within my work
I believe in sincerity above all else
